a bit of nature . . . and a visitor

Though it has been too cold
(we even turned on the central heating yesterday
which we never ever did in May !)
there has been a fair amount of rain lately
so the garden
EXPLODED

Greens all around and lots of blue too :
forget-me-nots, bluebells and the Camassia !

*

This morning I heard some tap-tap-tap outside
and didn't know where it came from :
no one was busy with a hammer . . .
But then I found the maker of that sound !!!

*

For the Stitch Club workshop by Saima Kaur
I made some fish

(this will probably become a pencil case)
*

And last but not least :
we had a very special visitor last Wednesday !
Leslie Gabriëlse,
from whom we bought a magnificent tapestry more than ten years ago,
brought us the original sketches of his design !

    1. ((Mo)) it is such fun to follow the colours of the seasons
right in front of your nose !

  2. Your mermaid and her shoal of fish is delightful, the colours really sing against that gorgeous background fabric. My garden, just like yours, is all full of blues, with the added zing from a little acid green euphorbia. I just love all those blues, though not the chilly blue of the weather, not at all spring like.
How wonderful to be able to watch the woodpecker carve away it's nest - they are such vibrant birds aren't they. We often have one shouting from the top of one of our trees :-)

    1. Ah ((Kat)) sooo true the garden is blue and mostly GREEN because of the rain, but the cold isn't very nice (+ a storm yesterday !) Hoping for warmer days soon !
