Today is Man's special birthday :

but since we already had our  B I G  party

earlier in September,

the day is quiet !

Quiet, but not without some delicious sweet !

When I woke up this morning

and realized it was this special day

I immediately had a new (better) idea

for today's  Textile Jewel

(I started a new one

and didn't continue the one I already cut out yesterday)

A spring green heart

made of felt and a Kaffe Fassett fabric back.

Embroidered with silk and rayon

and some tiny seed beads

(even my smallest needle had trouble with them !)

It might be a brooch

it might be a pendant :

(I'll wait what the one who snaps up this little heart wants ...)

Ahhhhh ... I've been very busy this afternoon

(nothing to do with stitching though !!!)

Tonight I will be going to the mandala group

so I have to post a bit early.

No sun today,

autumn is really on it's way.

That's not why I made a dark gray Jewel today :

I love colour

but gray and black are colours too !!!

(beautiful colours even  ;-) ...)

Enough time today to finish my textile jewel

because the felt form was already there finished.

I "only" had to get him dressed.

We had a fun family day

with the grandsons

(the big sister stayed at home)

But before that

my jewel for today was finished !

"Miniworld" right in the city of Rotterdam,

is not only fun for children ...

but I think that many a grown-up man

with a passion for playing with toy trains will LOVE this !

Day and night in twenty minutes,

old (before WW II) buildings next to new ones,

old familiar windmills and modern ones for electricity ...

( ha, a celebration of recognition for people who come from here !)
Ahhhh : enjoy the little video ...!

(a little push if a train seems to falter )

(of course the Feijenoord Stadium)

(even the giant stairs that were build to the top

of the "Groothandelsgebouw" were there in miniature !)

It was FUN !

day 8 (and VKG day)

Before I present my new Jewel

I have to tell you about where I was today :

I was invited to show my Sara Lechner Challenge house

at the membership meeting of the Dutch felters association

(Vilt Kontakt Groep)

I was going to meet some people I knew for some time

(but had never seen in "real life"!)

It was a LOT of  FUN

to meet old ánd new felting friends.

I didn't participate in the little felting project

but looked at and talked to

a lot of very nice women.

Because some knew of my Pink Ribbon project

I took the Textile Jewels that weren't yet sold

(and some extra like I made last year)

and guess what :

SOLD !

All of them !!!

Thank you sooooo much Jolan and Ellen !

(and all the sweet ladies that donated)

But as you can probably understand :

I have to go to my next "reserve Jewel"

(I took my little embroidery kit with me today ...

but nothing was completed ...)

So here is Pink Ribbon textile for day 8

A square jade green pendant

embroidered with a spiral, with a bright green silk back.

Some beads and a tassel and

it hangs on a long aqua thin cord.

( 4 x 9 cm)
