Oh my : May !

Our days are good ...

But when you look back

you often wonder where they went !

So enjoy each and every day !

New small items are emerging

out of tiny scraps :

new textile jewels.

"the circle of water"

Though they are not very big

6 x 10 cm  (2.5 x 4 ")

they take a lot of time,

deciding every little step in the process :
deciding which scraps go best with each other,
choosing threads to stitch with,

finding the right beads to go with the tiny symbols,

using this or that way to hang these

textile pendants.

"happy colours" about halfway

"mother Earth nurtures"

(nearly there)

(a lot more thinking and stitching needed)

And the garden ..... ?

just goes on and on and on ...

in the flow (of a tale)

While the little booklet of Sara's Challenge 

is finished now

the  f l o w of the embellisher is still going

so why not take advantage of that.

There was a story in some book that I liked,

and now I want to make something tangible of that

 The start is to make a layer out of wool (and some scraps)

and carry on till it's dense enough.

I want to use both sides of the piece

The story is about a mysterious

and wonderful bird

that hardly anyone has ever seen a glimpse of

A tiny wet felted bird with crochet wings,

and part of the "inside" forest taking shape

.....

I made the tiniest stitches on the chest and back of the bird

and then adorned it with the wonderful silk ribbon

from Emma's shop in France ! 

(it will be a challenge how to adjust the bird to the piece,

but that will be one of the very last steps in the process !)

just slowly going

It's so much fun

to go through my little plastic box

with the tiniest scraps I have

to see if they fit into the new little quilt.

This sun might Jacky recognize, she once send it to me

A Kaffe Fassett scrap I also used on my Night Wings jacket

(Oh my, I will have to start something else real soon :

blogaversary coming up !!!)

Though today wasn't only for stitching :

daughter came over and I helped her a bit 

preparing a template for some "window painting"

she promised to do in the school.

(ha : the next generation goes painting, though maybe I'll go help her, it's fun !)

And finally I múst show you this :

the shawlette with beads daughter was working on

during our holidays is finished !

Her first ever spun wool !

(I have some of the same yarn in my stash !!!)
