paper, scissors, stone ... ?

Still waiting

but the last of my secret projects

is finally finished

(only a few stitches, but that can only be done later)

(these are only tiny sneak peeks)

Having done these, it's no wonder I could

continue on the next task,

a task Jude is asking for ...

After all the feathers that flew out to her from all over the world

for her Magic Feather Project

she now is ready to start with the vast project

of giving all these feathers a place in cloths

that Wendy Golden-Levitt will use in her work with children.

To balance the light feathers and the blue sky-fabric

she is in need of stones

No,

not real stones ofcourse

but stones made out of fabric !

( in needle-turned applique )

That's why I thought of the good old game

paper ... scissors ... stone

though here it will be :

cloth ... scissors ... stone !

It was really fun to do

and join Jude's stitching community again !

one made out of cotton, one of silk and the rest of silk velvet

(or what was left of that after using discharge paste)

After some wet and cold weeks

there finally is a bit of sunshine

(though that will not last long, I think)

Time for the garden !

A lot of green !

and bits of blue ...

Remember this little person ?

He was swimming in his soapy pool awhile ago.

It took some time, but he slowly evolved ...

First he was waiting for some decent trousers

( jeans like a real sixties guy )

Then again after some days :

he was patiently waiting for his sweater of true Noro Kuryeon Sock yarn.

.....

"Ooooh my goodness, mam

do you see this ?

I can't go out like thát !

Can't hear a thing

and

   no hair ... "

Finally this morning

( on Feather Friday )

I gladly submitted to his wishes ...

and he could go out all by himself !

 I love him, and I think I call him Gabriel

( someone will definately know why )

Before you're asking : is he alone in the house ...

O no, I can assure you .....  he is nót !

( this last one was inspired by the five young swans who are grooming

and taking flying lessons right across our garden )

feathers after the storm

August is rushing to it's end already.

The storm at the US East Coast has blown away

so it's a safe time to think about some more feathers

for Jude's Magic Feather Project.

In the attic I found a paint stained shirt of Man

that I was about to throw away untill I noticed the shirt pocket :

in one corner was the tiniest embroidered horse.

Well thát deserved another life !

Washed, ironed and basted, it was ready to recieve a feather.

 Was that Pegasus perhaps ???

... it might be ...

Then today I prepared two other pieces of my procion dyed fabric

The yellow one (a bit bright perhaps, but Jude probably will find a place for it) got a sun,

the blue one a discharge moon ...

... the feathers are still in the making.

When they're finished they will fly over the ocean to Jude

When I looked at all the gathered feathers

of the Magic Feather Project

I saw that mine arrived safely in New York at last

so 

 here is the first

and here is the little extra : a felted one

I love how all these different feathers

are flying in from all over the world to Jude

so she can make them into something special

for the hurt children that Wendy Golden-Levitt

is taking care of as a therapist.
