Ahhhh a bit awkward I must say

writing a post again

after nearly two weeks of

"nothing"

Well ... I was busy :

working on the last extra commission-jewels

(there were six plus some textile beads)

So nothing much changed after October,

but,
there were no posts every evening !

But now it is time for a very  B I G

THANK  YOU  !

I can tell you that the October Pink Ribbon challenge this year

has been a great success !

Today we could donate :

€  600,-

Isn't that an amazing amount of money !!!

(ha, I wish I could write the numbers even bigger)

I know,

I worked hard on the Jewels every day

 

(this was day 31)

But, I needed YOU all out there

to buy them !

And there were soooo many that donated

EXTRA  MONEY !

So I really want to thank you ALL :

exchange to and fro

In our felting exchange

we had the two "holiday months" July and August

together for one exchange.

You should think that was plenty of time

to accomplish that "big task"

.....

Well, it really was on my to-do-list

(but probably too far at the end)

So then came my wake-up call

a wonderful  red  feather from Karin

presentable on both sides !

THANK YOU, Karin  !

So I went to work at once !!!

to make a "woman"

(Karin's theme)

In fact, I decidede to make only "half a woman"

After the felting, there was some stitching

Here's the little woman, ready to go in the mail ...

... swimming all the way to Nijmegen

to join the other "women" that are already there   

;-) 

Then I took some more wool 

(a lot in fact) 

to start a scarrf

And while the scarf was a LOT of gentle rolling,

I started some small things too !

Last Friday, March 8, was the International 

Women's Day 

("Venus de Merino" made by daughter)

I originally planned to do a post on that

but couldn't find the right words for my feelings,

all the important things I would like to say

.....

it's hard sometimes 

when you sit in front of the computer keyboard

...

But today I found on YouTube a small part of an interview with 

Whoopi Goldberg 

that I saw that Friday night on Dutch Television :

what a marvellous woman that is,
and what a fantastic interview !

And this particular bit was so touching !!!

(Well, in fact it should be "women's day" every day :
and then I don't think of most of the women here in Holland,
where almost everyone can freely plan her own life ...
no,
those places where women/girls aren't allowed to have proper education,
are raped for no other reason than
just being a women/girl,
baby girls are killed because parents prefere boys,
and young girls are forced to marry ...
that's why it should be on our mind every day)

 where she, among other things,
