what a night !

Last Friday
we had the most wonderful night
in a very long time :
a concert of the ANALOGUES !!!

and the ANALOGUES try to reproduce the sound

of the good old BEATLES !

They search for all the same instruments

that were once used by the Beatles in the studio

to come to the original sound

(and they succeed quite well !!!) 

The Analogues

We bought the ticket last year already,

one for our daughter too.

But circumstances made that she couldn't go with us.
So we had one spare ticket
with only hours to decide who to ask instead !
In the end the friend of a dear friend
(who also lives near the theatre in Rotterdam)
was (and IS) a great Beatle-fan
and was delighted with this sudden surprise !!!

And I can tell you,
thought the main hair colour in the theatre was gray
(hmmm . . . not me)
we howled, whistled and clapped our hands till it hurt,
like any "normal" POP concert audience,
the old fire still burning  !!!

 Because I was busy in October,
our anniversary party was postponed a bit.
(but it's not bad to have a party to look forward to !)

Yesterday we visited our granddaughter
in her new home
(which is MUCH closer to school
where she studies for gold smith)
and we went out for dinner :
with daughter and four youngsters this time.
(the family is expanding)
Though we had to wait quite a long time
before we could eat
it was wonderful being together !
(which isn't always possible
when children "are leaving the nest")

So sorry that on the special funny date
22 - 11 - '22
I had no time at all to write a post :
because I was soooo busy felting
in a wonderful masterclass with
Yaroslava Troinich

I have done other workshops with her
and it was always FUN !!!
She has great expertise in felting
and is very generous with her knowledge !
(if you love felting small, please check her out,
you won't regret it !!!)

So on 22 - 11 was the start of this class,
but two days later we finished this funny chap !

Meet IGOR, my black-and-tan rabbit !

Number two is on it's way,
but not dry yet

(next Tuesday they will have some clothes too,  haha)

day 16

 What a swell party
with drinks and plenty of sweet and savory food.
(not too many people, but really fun !)

This morning I was busy with the last cleaning bits
(ohhhh . . . throwing a party is a good reason to clean up
because I'm NOT really a cleaning type !) 
And of course busy with stitching !

This afternoon we had a little pre celebration

with daughter and kids :

High Tea !

But before we went there I had time enough

to do the stitching on today's jewel,

and take the pictures.

day 21

O yes

a lovely day with sunshine

for the postponed "High Tea" birthday party !

The door to the garden was open all day !

Man had made several delicious snacks,

daughter and granddaughter made yummy cupcakes,

and there were some more sweets

of our great local bakery,

and enough tea and coffee to keep everybody HAPPY !

I had taken into account that this would be a busy day

with little or no stitching-time left,

so a few days ago when I was on the machine

for the textile beads (on commission)

I put some of my lovely blue fabrics together for a brooch.

(ha, I nééded that one today !)

PARTY !!!

Oh my, what a weekend !!!

In April I had my birthday with a nice round number

and Man will soon have his birthday,

also a nice number,

so we wanted to throw a big

PARTY 

this summer.

Yesterday was the DAY !

A lot of our friends and relatives

were able to come

to the "THEETUIN" in Rijsoord

for a sumptuous lunch there.

For the children there

was lots they could do, outside or inside.

The lunch ánd dessert buffet

was outstanding.

(One of our friends even made a song for us !)

We had such a good time

having all these dear people together !

The weather

(we really have an "Indian Summer" right now)

was nice too, though not too hot yesterday.

So

On Saturday daughter and I

plus the two big grandchildren

were with out stall with felt and other stuff

on the "Open Monumenten Dag" near Oud-Beijerland.

The sun was shining all day and we were glad

there were some big walnut trees for some shadow.

Working n the shade it was better than in the sun !

We met some lovely people,

stall holders and customers,

but I was pleasantly surprised

when someone called out my name :

My dear blogging-friend Sandra,

she's the one who convinced me to go blogging, 

at the end of Jude's "Beasts" class ...

We finally met in real life !!!

What a bonus to a lovely day !

And of course busy with new things ...

Technology is a beatiful thing !

(if everything functions, at least)

My new Sony camera is a true wonder of technology

but

if the battery pack is empty .....

nothing goes !

(and I don't have a spare one yet !!!)

That was really sad today

because our granddaughter finally had her postponed

birthday party :

a felting party with three friends at my place.

When they came home from school

and the presents were unpacked ...

my camera didn't do anything, dead.

So I cannot show how much fun they had

making little felted bags

(which will probably hold a telephone)

Also today

I received an envelope from Germany.

In it was the cutest little sheep you can imagine :

I ordered it in the Filzkram shop

of my dear talented blogging friend Gabriele

and it arrived safely
