Last Pink Ribbon : day 31

This is the last day of my Pink Ribbon challenge,
31 days
one felted, and most of the time also embroidered, jewel.

Every few days I had to do some felting
to keep the flow of jewels going.
I remember only one day
I nearly had nothing to post,
but then I found something hidden under my threadnest
and saved the day !
I remember from last year
that the flow must really be constant.
It definitely asks some discipline.
Otherwise
you'll find yourself without anything
when something unexpected turns up
(like going somewhere for a whole day or
having a cold ...)

It took more time to embroider then expected
(and make the matching cord)
but here is my last felted jewel !

Pink Ribbon  felted jewel  31 :

A fish pendant, embroidered on both sides
with different beads and shiny rayon thread.
It hangs on a matching cord from its top fin.
Fish  ;  9 x 9 cm  (3.5 x 3.5")
cord  :  110 cm  (43")

 goldfish

so a few extra isn't such a problem
;-)

day 28 ... a friends-day

Ahhhhh, how I looked forward to this day
and yes, what I feared that could go "wromg"
........
but what a wonderful day we had
with my blogging-friend Natima and her husband Tom !!!

It was a lot of  sunshine  on a rather gray and cloudy day.
Thanks my dear friends for being such lovely special guests.

We picked them up on Rotterdam Central Station
took the Metro and had some coffee/tea
before we were off
to the windmills in Kinderdijk,
had lunch at our home,
then took the Fast Ferry back to Rotterdam again
and walked around the city
and ended it all in the "Markthal"
this amazing Rotterdam variation on the "Sistine Chapel"
(yes, I know : people in R'dam think BIG !)
They went back by train to Amsterdam
and we went on the boat home.

Boy oh boy, what a marvellous day !
We'll cherish the memory of it !

(Oh yes, then I still had to stitch a bit on my jewel)

day 26

The 26th of October
is a very special day for Man and me
:-)
(though today we didn't really celibrate,
that will come later)

Too much to do.

Felting ... and felting ... and more felting.

First of all I had to finish what I started on the 21st.
Now it's almost done, only some stitches
and a name tag ...
Then it's ready to be wrapped.

The rest of the felting were preparations
for the days to come :
because on Wednesday we have some far-away visitors
and I'm really excited about that !
I sure will tell about it later.

So here is
(still a bit wet ...)

the Pink Ribbon  felted jewel  26

A turqoise amulet pouch with a lilac spiral on the flap
stitched with lilac silk thread,
on a long matching cord

Late !

and later at the "pot luck" lunch had lots of yummy things to eat as well

We talked a lot about this and that,
even had a mini Christmas tree "workshop"

some had a walk, one did some spinning
and I had brought my felted jewel to stitch.

Ohhhhhh ... and ...
I sold three more felted jewels
and have four more to make on commission !!!
So a lot more money for Pink Ribbon !

It was a wonderful start of our new exchange !
Thanks Margriet, for your hospitality
and all the others for their presence.
