day 5

 Most of the time I start with my felted base
and just let me guide through the flow
of form and colour.
I'm not always really sure about the path I will follow,
if it will be a brooch or maybe a pendant today . . .
When I decided to make a pendant
it turned out there wasn't the right colour fabric bead in my stash.
And since my sewing machine isn't back from the repair
it meant making the bead all by hand.
(luckily I did have the stitched fabric I make these beads of !)

So after some extra stitching is here

A while ago in August
I visited some new friends from Stitch Club
(two sisters) who live really close to me, in the next town.
It was a fun day and we kept in touch.
I emailed them about the list of materials
that is needed for the next workshop
because some felting is involved.
They wanted some stuff I have in abundance
so they came here today to fetch it !
We had, again, such a lovely morning
and after lunch when they were ready to go home
we almost forgot the things they came for, hahaha !

After they left I took up my stitching for this day's jewel.

Working on more wet felted

and stitching on a dry one
in the afternoon.
But when a very dear friend calls
I have to say sorry after a short while
because there are still a few stitches to be made
and photos taken before the light gets too bad.

Today daughter and I finally went
to our "monthly" Alpaca knitting club :
it was so góód to be together again after so long
and we made the most of it !
(that's when you realize extra how we all missed this !)

PINK RIBBON . . . day 1 (post 1000 !)

Another year
another October month
another PINK  RIBBON month !

And post one thousand . . . ???
Who would have thought that when it all started
after the online "Beasts"-class of Jude Hill ?
Certainly not me !
Eleven years and a thousand posts on the day !
(Oh yes, the giveaway will follow, just not today, but keep that in mind too !)

Again I will make a Textile Jewel every day of this month
and sell it to any of you out there
who loves to buy a wearable special little work of art
(for her(him)self or someone dear)
and at the same time donating money to the
PINK  RIBBON Fund
(and the "Borstkanker Vereniging Nederlad")

Because there is still need for this
because still lots of women (and men too !)
get the diagnose BREAST CANCER
and have to start their struggle with the disease !
For me it is more than 23 years now
since I was diagnosed, had surgery and chemo after that,
but I'm lucky and still here !
That's why I do this,
with your help !!!

For research into new treatment methods and aftercare
for breast cancer patients, Pink Ribbon needs money !
