for Penny

Penny in Canada showed a fantastic looking Blue Jay
we don't have that bird here
but we have a
"Vlaamse Gaai"

I do think that's the same kind of bird
which is mostly found in woodlands.
We don't have much woods here in the west of our small country
but fortunately these birds visit us in wintertime in our garden.
Man is making all the birds very happy by providing
delicious food for them!
Thus we are rewarded by many feathered visitors.

  3. Well I never, quite different; but very handsome! The second photo must be starlings? What are the birds in the third photo? They look like our chickadees but with longer tails.

  4. Penny, they are tits, long-tailed tits that is.
There is a great tit, blue tit en several others that are not that common here. The long-tailed ones are always in groups together: coming, foraging and leaving again.
Our Jay has a crest that sometimes stands up, just like your Blue Jay. ;-)

  5. How wonderful to see your birds! The middle ones, are they starlings? I love that name, not so much the bird. They are a problem in this area.

  6. It is always such fun to see the kind of birds that visit feeders in other countries. These are beautiful.
We have Starlings and Grackles here in our area...they come in groups and empty our feeder:)
