I found a lovely piece of Liberty's fabric.

Such wonderful fine cotton !!!

I don't have a real "embroidery-machine"

though I can make lots of fun borders

on my wonderful (Pfaff) sewing machine.

But these images I make by free-motion stitching.

day 6

There were a lot of different things

I could have done today.

Apparently there are days when all sorts of things are planned,

lots to choose from,

but of course you can do only one.

I went to Rotterdam,

did some shopping,

visited my "Stitch'n Bitch" friends,
brought my "Arche" shoes to the shop for repair,

and started when I got home
looking for something I couldn't find this morning :

a tiny piece of fabric with some stitching on it,

a little sea horse.

BUT:  nowhere !!!

I turned over everything on or next to the table :

still nothing !

(the little beast went on an adventure ?!?)

(glad I had a spare jewel ...)

Late this afternoon I started on a new seahorse 

Tomorrow I will be here with a new Textile Jewel !

day 5

It was a wonderful warm sunny autumn day,

the door to the garden has been open all day.

I love to make "new" fabric for fabric beads :

snippets of fabric which I tron on "Hobbs"

and then go over it with the machine

with various stitches and colours.

Today I found a little leftover of that

in reds and bright pink,

just right for this day.

Then I made a skeleton leaf
out of felt on "water soluble"

Autumn is coming visibly nearer.

Trees are getting colour

(LOVE this season)

Stitching on water soluble is such fun !

Almost like magic

when the stitch bearer is dissolved

and you have the flower in your hand !

Some bright red snippets

are enough to make

a delicate flower.

Today I was busy with two small leaves

only one finished now.

It's so much fun to have lots of colours

(fabric, cotton, sewing thread, beads)

to choose from.

So sometimes there are "strange" combinations,

which I like.

PINK RIBBON : day one

Today, October first, is the beginning

of my PINK  RIBBON  challenge

when I make

a textile jewel every day

that I will sell for the Pink Ribbon Fund.

The Pink Ribbon Fund needs money to support research

to find the best probable treatment and aftercare

for breast cancer patients

It is more than 20 years

that I was a breast cancer patient myself

and it still moves me when I see how many women

(and men) have to deal with this illness.

Yesterday I started stitching on the sewing machine,

the water soluble was washed out

and it dried over night.

Because I wasn't quite happy with the white of the background

I played a bit with "Inktense" pencils.

So,

(though it's not spring (here) and no full moon)

I start with this Textile Jewel for day 1
