(Ohhhhh late, again
but I was busy for my fun day with felting friends
the "VKG-dag" in Amersfoort) 

Not an early start stitching either
because I wanted to do some felting first.

Colours galore !
(that's me)

I try to switch colours every day
for my Textile Jewel.
Though that means getting another few balls of cotton,
stranded cotton and machine rayon thread,
seed beads and sequins almost every day.
It's too much to leave it all lying around . . .
though Man thinks there is already TOO much as it is now !
(hmmmm, have to clear the place
because of the party we're having
in a good week's time ! )

A brooch, a pendant, earrings ?
I just make what comes to my mind.

Sometimes the work goes quickly
(though it takes me hours to stitch to completion)
and sometimes it seems to take all day
because along the way I change my mind,
or I find something in my stash
that is an even better idea !

Making these tiny wet felts is fun,
making new shapes even more so.
The colours depend on my mood of the moment
(though, being a "colour-person" gives me much room there !)

and stuffed before fulling completely,

Sunshine at first, but cloudy now.
Something "sunny" to stitch this morning.

Luckily I have e few felted bits to choose from :
there will be days away and some partying this month
so I had to prepare some in advance !
A national felters meeting this Saturday
and then the week after that
the big "Textiel Plus Festival"
with the textile art contest
(where I will have to bring my "Plastic Soup Sea")

The garden is quite green
after some rather rainy days (and nights !)
I mean : there isn't much colour left . . .
except for the dahlias in a pot
close to the house,
a vibrant purple
or should I say violet !
They remind me of the Flower Parade in Zundert
in early September :
such amazing colours these dahlias come in !!!

PINK RIBBON : day one

A year has gone by
and it is October again,
for me that means :

"Pinktober"

For another year I will try to make
a Textile Jewel every day
that I sell
to anyone of you out there.
To anyone who wants to buy a lovely little wearable work of textile art,
while, by doing so, making a donation to the
PINK  RIBBON Fund !

Still lots of women (and men) get the diagnosis
BREAST CANCER
and have to start their struggle with the disease.
More that 24 years ago I was diagnosed,
had a major operation and chemo after that.
Because I'm still here
I want to set this challenge for myself
and make
with YOUR help
a wonderful donation when this month is over !

 Pink Ribbon needs money for research into new treatment methods
and also aftercare for breast cancer patients !
